Post taggati the office.

I think it’s pretty fair to say that if there’s no Office, there’s no Modern Family. And there’s certainly no Parks and Rec. There’s no a lot of shows. That kind of Spinal Tap-like mockumentary thing hadn’t really been done on mainstream TV and it really changed single-camera comedy a lot. It made it into something that wasn’t only artistically interesting, but also commercially viable. … At the very least, it will be seen as a trailblazing show.

Do I get along with my co-workers? Well, first of all, I don’t have co-workers anymore; I have subordinates. So, have I gotten along with my subordinates? Let’s see.

John Krasinski wrote what’s inside the card at some point prior to us shooting the scene for A.A.R.M. and it is a private message to his co-star and dear friend, Jenna Fischer. They are the only ones who knows what it says. She read it for the first time when he gave it to her in the first take we shot and I can tell you that judging from her emotional response, it’s really something special.

“Not enough for me? You are… everything.”

We chose a random scene where everyone’s exiting the office for the last shot that we ever did, and I’m so glad we did. It was a very sort of mundane walking out of the office. It wasn’t big and dramatic or anything, and I think it was at the beginning of the show or something, so it’s not like it’s the last shot.

And we were all – I’ll never forget, we were all joking around. I was, as per usual, crying laughing as we exited – I’m a crier laugher, which is a bummer, but I was crying laughing with Craig and we were all joking around waiting in the hall every time we exited. And then, one of the times we came back, instead of saying, “Going again,” Greg randomly appeared and just said, “Ladies and gentlemen, that’s the end of The Office.” And it was, I mean even talking about it now, it was a gut punch.

Well, you can’t have everything so you just have to ask yourself what makes you the happiest. Just go all in for what’s most important. That’s my new thing.
